Project Qualifications

The Golden Goose Club was formed in 2015 and began funding projects in 2016. The club is a 501(c)(3) and is comprised of women from throughout Mahaska County who generously donate $100 per calendar quarter for community improvement projects.

Projects to be considered for Golden Goose grant funding must meet specific project criteria (see Qualification Questionnaire), must be presented during regular quarterly meeting, and be voted upon by Golden Goose members. Available funding is awarded to the project which receives a simple majority vote by both members in attendance during that night’s meeting and presentation and by allowable proxy votes that same evening.

Meetings take place the 3rd Thursday of March, June, September, and December. Projects wishing to be considered for available funds at an upcoming meeting must have completed the Qualification Questionnaire and have turned in by the 1st of the month in which the quarterly meeting takes place.
